Convergence lab member Andrew Beck uses crowdsourcing to develop computer cancer diagnostic

Convergence lab member Andrew BeckĀ  is looking to change how doctors diagnose cancer, and the key might lie in crowdsourcing.

Researchers at Beth Israel Deaconess are using crowdsourcing, through the website CrowdFlower, to develop labeled images of tumor tissues. Scientists hope to use this data to better train a computer algorithm to read tissue samples and determine if the cells are cancerous.
